LATE SPRING RELEASE
The Hana Sool Club late spring release highlights bright, refreshing expressions made for warm-weather evenings and outdoor gatherings: OMIJA MAKGEOLLI and FORBIDDEN TAKJU. Each wine leans into vivid acidity, soft lactic texture, and lively aromatics that feel especially at home during the summer months.
OMIJA MAKGEOLLI is layered with the tart, floral character of omija berry, bringing vibrant fruit and refreshing acidity. Omija, also known as schisandra berry, translates to five flavor berry. A medicinal berry characterized by its simultaneously sweet, tart, salty, spicy and bitter flavor, it is a popular botanical used in jeontongju.
FORBIDDEN TAKJU is made with 25% Forbidden Rice, an heirloom varietal of black rice originating from China. The distinctive dark bran gives this sool a beautiful purple hue as well as notes of raspberry and blackberry sherbert, red beans, and yogurt.

OMIJA MAKGEOLLI - 500 ml | 10% ABV, sedimented, bone dry, light body with a subtle, salty, peppery and tangy profile from the omija berries.
FORBIDDEN TAKJU - 750 ml | 16% ABV, sedimented, dry, light body with intense berry and sherbert notes from the black rice.
HWAJU 12 - 750 ml | 12% ABV, sedimented, medium body, earthy, infused with chrysanthemum and hydrangea.
YAKJU 14 - 750 ml | 14% ABV, clarified, light body, dry, refined, bright with naturally occurring lactic acid

For the 2026 Winter Release, registration will open on Thursday, May 28th and close on Thursday, June 11th. Release packages will ship out from the brewery the week of the June 15th!

Each season, we’ll announce which bottles will be part of our next club releases. Club members will then receive an email offering them a chance to update their addresses, payment information, etc. and an option to suspend their membership if they so choose. Shortly thereafter, payment will be processed and boxes will be packed and shipped out to all club members.
