WINTER RELEASE

The Hana Sool Club winter release features distinctly seasonal expressions: the inaugural release of SAGWAJU and our YAKJU RESERVE. Each is rooted in patience and the quiet depth that emerges in winter fermentation.

SAGWAJU (New Release) marks a new chapter for Hana Makgeolli. This unfiltered rice wine is a coferment of rice and with apples from Twin Star Orchards in the Hudson Valley. The balance between rice and fruit is one we have discovered through years of brewing and a reflection of our appreciation for the farmers who grow alongside us. 

YAKJU RESERVE is a long-aged, clarified rice wine crafted for depth and restraint. Aged in whiskey barrels, it reveals layered aromas, rounded texture, and a lingering, meditative finish designed to be sipped slowly through the winter months.

The 2026 Spring Release will be in May

  • SAGWAJU - 750 ml | 10% ABV, apple co-ferment made in collaboration with Twin Star Orchards. Still, clarified, semi sweet with crisp aromatics, bright acidity, and a refreshing finish

    YAKJU RESERVE - 375 ml | 16% ABV, clarified, barrel aged, light body with notes of warm oak and butter

    TAKJU 16 - 750 ml | 16% ABV, sedimented, heavy body, near-dry, with floral notes of melon and apples

    YAKJU 14 - 750 ml | 14% ABV, clarified, light body, dry, refined, bright with naturally occurring lactic acid

  • SAGWAJU - 750 ml | 10% ABV, apple co-ferment made in collaboration with Twin Star Orchards. Still, clarified, semi sweet with crisp aromatics, bright acidity, and a refreshing finish

  • For the 2026 Winter Release, registration will open on Monday, February 9th and close on Monday, February 23nd. Release packages will ship out from the brewery the week of the 23rd!

  • Each season, we’ll announce which bottles will be part of our next club releases. Club members will then receive an email offering them a chance to update their addresses, payment information, etc. and an option to suspend their membership if they so choose. Shortly thereafter, payment will be processed and boxes will be packed and shipped out to all club members.
