Introducing

Sool School

A new blog from Hana Makgeolli

We at Hana Makgeolli love indulging in a glass of sool and the immense history and wisdom that comes with it. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Sool School, a blog dedicated to furthering the knowledge of sool in the United States and beyond.

Think of Sool School as an educational pitstop for all things sool. You’ll find in-depth features about our rice wines and the backstory behind new releases and items on our sool and anju menus in the Tasting Room. We’ll showcase sool’s versatility by profiling restaurants pouring Hana Makgeolli or tinkering with our jigemi and shops around the country that carry our bottles. And while we love focusing on sool’s present-day usages, its tremendous history deserves a spotlight too. Follow us as we dig into the history behind Korea’s oldest alcoholic beverage through illuminating interviews and photo essays.

Sool School will be posting once a month, sometimes more. (For a bi-monthly digest of what’s happening in the Hana Makgeolli community, you can sign up for our Newsletter too.) We always love hearing from readers near and far, so feel free to comment or send an email. Catch you in Sool School!
