Gyopo (교포): a term for those who leave their homeland, build a life abroad, and carry its roots with them.

Based in Toronto, Gyopo Makgeolli Brewery is a new kind of Korean brewpub — modern, unmistakably hip, and centered on house-brewed makgeolli served through a dedicated draft system. Our menu reimagines Korean cooking with technique and perspective drawn from beyond Korea, offering flavors that feel familiar yet arrive somewhere unexpected.

On July 26th, for one day only, we bring that philosophy to Brooklyn. Chef Hansang Lee will present Gyopo's menu at Hana Makgeolli, with each dish carefully paired to a Hana makgeolli — a collaboration between two gyopo (Hansang Lee X Alice Jeon), two cities, and one shared meal.
